Between March 31 and April 2, LATAXNET conducted a strategic roadshow in New York, bringing together leading tax and legal advisors from across Latin America. The agenda included meetings with prominent U.S. law firms and institutions, strengthening partnerships and exploring new opportunities for collaboration.

A key highlight of the visit was the Academic Seminar on Latin American Cross-Border Taxation, held on April 1st at the New York University (NYU) School of Law in partnership with NYU’s International Tax Program. Sponsored by LATAXNET, the seminar featured expert panels discussing recent developments in cross-border taxation, tax treaty updates, and the implementation of global standards such as Pillar II and MLI.

This edition also marked a special moment as it celebrated the final year of Professor H. David Rosenbloom’s involvement with the seminar — a tribute to his decades of dedication to international tax education and to fostering dialogue between Latin America and the United States.

During the visit, LATAXNET also held its Annual General Meeting, where it announced Mauricio Bravo Fortoul as the new president of the network. Mauricio is a founding partner of Turanzas, Bravo & Ambrosi in Mexico, a firm widely respected for its expertise in tax law, including international taxation, transfer pricing, and strategic advisory for multinational clients.

In his final act as president, Jorge Espinosa delivered a “State of the Union” address, highlighting the achievements of his term and LATAXNET’s evolution into a dynamic, collaborative, and forward-thinking network.

Under Mauricio’s leadership, LATAXNET will continue to strengthen its presence across 17 jurisdictions in Latin America and the Caribbean, expanding its ability to deliver high-level legal and tax solutions throughout the region.

The network extends its sincere thanks to NYU School of Law, the International Tax Program, and all participants in this meaningful week of dialogue and exchange — and invites everyone to join in celebrating this exciting new chapter for LATAXNET.
